Back from Melbourne- HOME SWEET HOME

Had a great time in Melbourne.

Got to see my son and gave him a big big hug. :hug::hug::hug::love:

How long have you been painting?

I see you listed Rembrandt as one of your favorite painters. Well, it really shows in your work with how you illuminate objects :thumbsup:

I was told by a primary school who went to my parents and told them I had talent so I started there. The Teacher actually bought me a small set of Marie Oil Paints.

But I took it up again seriously in 1983 when the family bought me an easel and paints for my birthday, so I thought I better do something with them.

Then after a few years I got to a photorealist style and wondered what abstract art was all about and went to Uni. and TAFE.

So I now have a great appreciation for many styles of art. If its great, we respond to it, we instinctively know when something works, doesnt matter what style or subject matter or medium is used. If it works it works.

So how long have been painting for, probably a life time, and seriously/compulsively/obssessively for 26 years. Its my life.:heart::iconfloatingheartplz::painter::love:

:noes: I've only been painting since I was 16, now I'm 19. I never had any talent appear when I was young, I only figured out I could paint when I accidentally signed up for an advanced class, instead of beginner, in high school. But I have only started taking art seriously, for my life, since this September.

My earliest exposure to art(my father was an abstract expressionist painter)was always abstract and surreal work. My earliest influences to start painting came from surrealists, so I never got into photorealism for my work.
